Plans are fully underway for our 2014 Annual General Meeting which will take place over the June 7th weekend in Castlegar this year. The Kootenay Mountaineering Club will be hosting us and have some great stuff planned for the weekend. We’ll also be there to celebrate the KMC’s 50th Anniversary with them.
Here’s a rough itinerary for the weekend:
Friday night the KMC will be hosting a BBQ to welcome traveling FMCBC directors and club reps from all over BC. This will also be where people meet up with their host billets for the weekend.
Our meeting on Saturday will take place from 10am to 3pm at the Castlegar and District Community Complex and will include general AGM business, voting in the Board Executive and some presentations. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all AGM attendees.
Saturday afternoon the KMC will be holding an orienteering event at Selkirk College which should be a lot of fun.
We’re set to have dinner at The Element on Saturday night followed by a presentation by Dave Quinn from Wildsight at the Old Castlegar Theatre. In addition, it’s Sunfest weekend in Castlegar which means there will be fireworks to watch after the presentation on Saturday night.
The KMC will also lead a short hike for us on Sunday morning and then send us on our way.
It’s going to be lots of fun and a good chance to get to know some of your fellow FMCBC directors. If you are interested in attending email us for more information.
