There are plans for three more IPP (Independent Power Producer) projects in the Upper Lillooet River valley which could affect recreational opportunities there. Unlike in the Sea-to-Sky LRMP, the section on winter backcountry recreation zoning is very small in the Lillooet LRMP. The FMCBC sent in comments in 2000. This conservancy is located east of Pemberton, in the Twin Two drainage (Twin Two Creek drains into Lillooet Lake). The FMCBC submitted a letter with comments on the draft conservancy management plan. While most aspects of the plan are good, continued heli-skiing and heli-hiking in a wilderness area of the conservancy are inappropriate.
BC Parks is currently working on a management plan amendment for Garibaldi Provincial Park, specifically for the Spearhead/Fitzsimmons area.
