• Forest and Range Practices Act (FRPA) – FRPA outlines how all forest and range practices and resource-based activities are to be conducted on Crown land in B.C., while ensuring protection of everything in and on them, such as plants, animals and ecosystems.

• Provincial Trail Strategy for BC – The Trails Strategy provides the framework, principles, and guidance necessary to develop a world-class trail system for BC. Overall, this framework establishes a clear strategic direction for planning, developing, maintaining, managing, marketing, and using an integrated network of trails in our province over the next 10 years.

• Avalanche Canada – a non-government, not-for-profit organization dedicated to public avalanche safety
• Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) – The CAA’s vision is that the Canadian public has the highest degree of confidence in the avalanche safety programs and services delivered by its members

• AdventureSmart – a national prevention program focused on reaching Canadians, and visitors to Canada, who participate in outdoor recreational activities
• British Columbia Search and Rescue Association – Lists search and rescue groups in BC by region, and provides links, tips and tools on outdoor safety.

• Clark Geomatics – award-winning backcountry hiking and recreation maps
• National Resources Canada Topographical Maps – Canada’s national topographic mapping agency with links for hardcopy and digital topographic maps
• AllTrails is a great mapping tool that works on your phone and computer
• GaiaGPS is one of the best GPS mapping systems that works on your phone and computer.

FMCBC members have helped create overview maps of the Goat River Trail, Mount Arrowsmith and the Nootka Trail. These maps are not suited for navigation.
