Happy New Year to our outdoor recreation community!

The FMCBC is ready to get to work and 2023 promises to be a year of outdoor adventures and backcountry policy success.

We are working with other outdoor recreation organizations to help visualize the role of the newly created BC Parks, Recreation Sites and Trails Division under the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy. This unification of our parks and trails management in BC will make it easier to complete volunteer work on trails, get and give information and recommendations about outdoor recreation, and move forward with solving trail development and maintenance concerns.

The FMCBC is committed to ensuring equitable access and usability for all British Columbians. We always want to hear from YOU about how we can support your club, and what contributions you and your club can make to the efforts of the FMCBC.

This year, we are celebrating 50 years of backcountry advocacy as the Federation of Mountain Clubs of BC. We invite you to submit stories and memories of the FMCBC for our Spring/Summer 2023 Cloudburst publication.

Together, we are stronger!
