Long-term, secure access to Lake Lovely Water and Tantalus Provincial Park is compromised by the necessity of crossing private property to reach the trail in Tantalus Provincial Park. On the east side of the Squamish River, the last part of the road and the usual parking area is on Squamish Nation land, and the lower section of the trail on the west bank of the river is on private land.

The FMCBC strongly supports the efforts by BC Parks to maintain trail access to Tantalus Provincial by negotiating long-term land use agreements and/or rerouting part of the trail. More details about the trail access issue can be found here in the letter of support that we sent to BC Parks.
